Top of the morning to ya

Warning: This post is about vomit, so if the talk of vomit makes you want to vomit, you might want to skip this one.

Well, it's yet another morning where I've been woken up to the harmonious sound of dog hurl. Tank's hours of puking are between sound asleep and sweet dreams. Never has he so much as gagged during normal business hours. I've woken up to being puked on (I'll take a warm pile of vomit for $100, Alex), puking off the side of the bed (Avalanche!), to just regular old heaving on the floor. Personally, I like it when Tank gets creative with where he is going to projectile. For some reason when Tank started up this morning I started singing that song from Beverly Hills Cop, "The Heat is On" but I just replaced "heat" with "puke."

The puke is on...it's on the streets.
Inside your head, on every beat.
Oh-wo-ho, oh-wo-ho.

  1. omg, Franco puked at my fancy dinner party last weekend. The sad thing was that no one was even perturbed, it just seemed to be expected...

  2. Yes I know how that goes! Indy woke me up at 4:30am saturday gagging and heaving (she fights the puke). I was going to be a bad pug mommy and ignore till i got up but she starting choking. And of course she puked on the only carpet in the place right outside my bedroom door. Sigh. Its a conspiracy I think.

  6. Ugh. Thank goodness Brutus isn't much of a barfer (that honor goes to my Lab, Mason), since he never gives any warning. Just "blauh" - there it is! Although I never enjoyed waking up to the sound of "hooka-hooka-hooka" when my lab barfs, at least I know I need to drag my butt out of bed & clean it up. If Brutus barfs (and he has done this once or twice during the night), I never know it until I roll over into it (yuck) and by then it's soaked into the duvet or mattress (double yuck)!

On another note, this sounds like a brachycephalic syndrome issue. You might want to ask your vet if Tank is a candidate for soft palate surgery. Not without risks, but if he ever needs to be anesthetized for anything else, it might be worth considering. Just a thought :)

  12. Everyone once in a while I barf too. Three days ago I barfed on the bed in Anthony's room (don't worry he was safe in his crib) but it smelled pretty bad. Hee hee.
